Wings n More Restaurant & Bar (979) 691-2100

1511 University Drive East College Station, TX 77840
I love Wings n More, but would go ahead and tell you to go to the one on Deacon. They have a great patio so you can sit outside. One problem is that it closes at 10:00. Which for me, is kind of early for a restaurant to close in the evening I regularly eat late dinners.

I'm from Houston and I have searched and searched for some good Mexican food in the College Station area. This is the best I've found. The super burrito is really good. And I like the salsa. It's barely in Bryan, immediately after you pass the College Station limit.

Freebirds World Burrito (979) 260-9086

700 Earl Rudder Freeway South College Station, TX 77840
Great for us poor college kids. You can always find a coupon for it somewhere in College Station and the burritos big enough to keep you full for a whole day. However, the food is just par. It's a basic burrito joint with no interesting or fantastic options. But like I said cheap, filling meal when needed.

Angelos Pizza & Pasta (281) 332-2404

400 West Bay Area Boulevard Suite A Webster, TX 77598
The food is pretty good, and it's my absolute favortie pizza. I worked there for more than a year, and never tired of the food. However, it's a small place and on Friday nights it can go on a very long waiting list. Also, not all of the wait staff are the friendliest. The menu is pretty extensive, good variety. And I absolutely have to recommend the Zuppa soup, it's awesome!

LUPE Tortillas Mexican Restaurant (281) 338-2711

891 West Bay Area Boulevard Webster, TX 77598
Biggest pro of this place, it has a play area so that you can chat without the kids getting too bored. They have some excellent queso, and a really good atmosphere. If the weather's nice, definitely sit outside. Considering that it is on Bay Area Blvd. it's actually somewhat secluded b/c it is pulled back from the street a little. The salsa tastes more like pico than the tex-mex tangy/spicy salsa I prefer, and that would probably be it's only downside.

1601 Nasa Parkway Houston, TX 77058
Space Center Houston has this new really cool play area for young children. It is tall enough for an adult to walk through in some places and kept my niece entertained for hours. However, the educational movies and tours are not very entertaining for young kids. If you're visiting Houston, it is a must-see. It's on the water, too, so a dinner at the Kemah boardwalk would make a great afternoon.

Buffalo Wild Wings (979) 691-8453

903 Univ Drive College Station, TX 77843
The food is amazing and fantastic. The service is so-so. Best part: the Texas Hold'Em Buzztime thingy is really fun and the trivia is pretty fun too. On a given night if there's a big sports game on Buffalo Wild Wings has it. However, if it's an ATM game don't even bother trying to get in. It will be packed.

Barnes & Noble (281) 554-8224

1029 W Bay Area Blvd Webster, TX 77573
Filled with a lot of cozy seats to go sit and ready/study in. It has a Starbucks connected. The place is pretty well organized. Their staff knows where to find just about anything they have in stock. Really cool kids section. The problem: it is pricey.. I go in there and read, without buying anything (most of the time). The CD selection is pretty good, but in less you have a gift card, I'd go to Target.

Fitzwilly's is a fantastic place. It has a really cool layout, a convenient ATM, and you're allowed to smoke in it (even before 10:00 p.m.). The burgers are pretty yummy, and the fire pit thing is awesome. Oh, and it has wireless internet for some of you students who are connected to your laptops.

Dos Mas Mexican Restaurant (281) 332-1801

103 West Bay Area Boulevard Webster, TX 77598
Dos Mas is inexpensive and the food is decent. For the smokers out there, it is one of the few restaurants you're still allowed to smoke in. It has good home made queso. It also has that small hole-in-the-wall atmosphere and is a good environment for a relaxed meal. Biggest pro is its inexpensive.

Blues Bar And Grill (409) 316-1321

11948 Highway 6 Santa Fe, TX 77510
This is a typical biker small town bar, so if you're not into that than don't bother. However, it has an interesting atmosphere with a lot of regulars and their rather hilarious stories. Friendly staff. The food is really pretty good. The hot wing sauce is delicious. The best part of this place by far is the fantastic eavesdropping.

I worked here for a summer and I can tell you first hand that the staff are trustworthy. However, the office is disorganized and the field trip somewhat not age appropriate (too boring, for the age group). There aren't enough planned activities in their schedule. Also, if anyone is planning on getting a job here I would have to tell you the kids are fun and great, but they do not communicate well with you on what is going on. For instance, a teacher took a week's vacation and I was given her kids without warning.
